Do you want to teach your pupils how to paint with a paintbrush, different brushstrokes and geometric blocks of primary colours in a fun and engaging way? Look no further than this resource pack, which includes three outstanding art lessons that cover these topics in a creative and interactive way and are suitable for Key Stage 1 pupils. This resource pack contains: ⍟ Three detailed lesson plans that outline the learning objectives, success criteria, starter activities, main inputs, main activities, differentiations, plenaries and item lists for each lesson. ⍟ Three PowerPoint presentations that support the main inputs and plenaries, with text boxes for the teacher to read and key questions to ask the pupils. They also include images and diagrams to illustrate the concepts and techniques for each lesson. ⍟ Vocabulary task sheets that help the pupils to learn some words related to painting, such as brushes, thick, painting, palette, bristles, primary colours, thin, gentle, brushstrokes, handle, colour, shade, stroke, etc. The sheets have tables with three columns: word, definition and example. The pupils need to match the words with their definitions and examples or fill in the missing columns for each lesson. ⍟ Examples of paintings sheets that show some paintings that use different techniques and colours. Created for Key Stage 2, these lessons are easily adaptable for Key Stage 1 too. Children will make snow globes, Christmas birds, a hand-print wreath, Christmas tree cards, an Advent calendar, a seasons calendar and a winter landscape bauble. They will also find out about the history of wreaths, Advent calendars and Christmas cards. This unit contains a bumper pack of 121 PowerPoint slides altogether, 11 pages of lesson plans and 14 resource sheets. This African mask unit can be used across Art and Design & Technology to help children to design and create their own African mask inspired by the culture and traditions of many different African cultures. By the end of this unit, the children will have created their own wearable African mask made from clay. The children will be able to present some key facts about the use of masks in different cultures. They will extend their understanding of the mosaicking technique and practise using sculpting materials with confidence.
